Forest Whitaker leads the cast of Vipaka, a voodoo-themed horror movie directed by Philippe Caland. According to THR, "the story follows a severely disturbed contractor
(Whitaker) seeks help from a life coach (Mackie). What begins as an honest
therapy session becomes a twisted and dangerous psychological game, when he
abducts the life coach and uses his spiritual messages to terrorize him and
his family".

Anthony Mackie, Mike Epps, and Sanaa Lathan are also attached to the film, with production set to begin this month in New Orleans. The story was written by Shin Shimosawa, who was a co-producer on The Grudge and also has multiple TV writing credits, including episodes of Stephen King's Dead Zone. Philippe Caland previously worked with Forest Whitaker on Ripple Effect in 2007.
