Resident Evil fans may be getting Operation Raccoon City, The Mercenaries 3D, Revelations, Resident Evil 4 HD, and Resident Evil: Code Veronica HD this year, but Capcom still has every intention of making Resident Evil 6. The only problem is that they aren't even sure what kind of game it will be at this point. A recent interview quotes Capcom's Masachika Kawata as saying:
"[Translated] The series will see a complete renovation with the next entry on every level. But we can’t forget about all the previous entries that have led to the creation of many possibilities for the franchise. I can’t say if we’re going to make it (Resident Evil 6) survival horror or a shooter, but I can say that it’ll be totally different."
If this interview is correct, that means that we may have to wait a while before we see Resident Evil 6. Thankfully, an overload of zombie games this year should keep us busy until they're ready.
