Godzilla is currently filming in Vancouver and fans have been trying to get original Godzilla star Akira Takarada to appear in the film. Today, Legendary Pictures revealed that the fans have been heard and Akira Takarada will be a part of the movie. As you can see from the picture below, Akira Takarada is on-set and will have a role in the movie, although specific details were not released.

As previously reported, Godzilla stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, Richard T. Jones, David Strathairn and Bryan Cranston. Gareth Edwards is directing the film from a screenplay by Max Borenstein, Frank Darabont and Dave Callaham.

The movie will be released to US theaters on May 16th, 2014 and is expected to be presented in 3D. While Warner Bros. will be handling most of the worldwide rollout, Toho will be taking over for the Japanese release.
