Following their recent unwrapping of the first Alien: Covenant trailer on Christmas day, 20th Century Fox has now unveiled three images from the movie, giving fans a closer look at the film's pain, horror, and intrigue.

Below, you can view the Alien: Covenant images (via The Playlist), and in case you missed it, check out our impressions of the film's footage that was shown at 20th Century Fox's 2017 Showcase event.

"Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ALIEN with ALIEN: COVENANT, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with PROMETHEUS — and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition."

A follow-up to 2012's Prometheus and a prequel to Alien (1979), Alien: Covenant was directed by Ridley Scott and features the return of Michael Fassbender, who reprises his role as the android David and also plays the new android Walter.

Additionally, Alien: Covenant stars Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollet, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, and Benjamin Rigby.

20th Century Fox will release Alien: Covenant in theaters on May 19th, 2017. Stay tuned to Daily Dead for more details.
