In 1988, after working for the legendary Stan Winston, two of the most talented practical effects artists in the business started their own shop, Amalgamated Dynamics, Inc. (ADI). Since then, Tom Woodruff, Jr. and Alec Gillis have helped bring iconic creations to life in the innovative realms of horror and sci-fi cinema. To celebrate 30 years of "make-up, monsters, and magic," the amazing creations from ADI will be featured at a new exhibit at The Hollywood Museum.

Kicking off on October 3rd and running through the rest of 2018, the ADI 30-year retrospective exhibit will feature a display room brimming with practical effects from the company's past three decades. Over the years, Woodruff, Jr., Gillis, and their talented team of artists have worked on some of the most memorable movies in cinema, including Tremors, Alien 3, Starship Troopers, The X-Files, Hollow Man, Spider-Man 2, Godzilla (2014), and IT (2017). Suffice to say that there are sure to be plenty of amazing creations that you won't want to miss!

Stay tuned to Daily Dead for more coverage of the ADI retrospective exhibit, keep an eye on The Hollywood Museum's official website for further updates, and watch the Instagram video below to see Gillis talk about the upcoming event.
