While it may not be a Friday, Tuesday the 13th does have a bit of a nice ring to it, too, which makes it a perfect day to add some great genre Blu-rays and DVDs to your home entertainment collections. Scream Factory is doing the (dark) lord’s work yet again this week with their Collector’s Edition of Vice Squad (which I cannot wait to check out) as well as their stunning Steelbooks for both Galaxy of Terror and Forbidden World.

For those of you who enjoy “talkies” (a phrase we coined in our house for our favorite dialogue-heavy films), Radioland Murders arrives on Blu for the first time ever this week, and the third season of Riverdale hits both formats on Tuesday as well.

Other notable releases for August 13th include Avengers: Endgame, The Velocipastor (ahead of its Blu-ray release on September 17th), A Dark Place, Devil Music, Manson Family Movies and Dude Bro Party Massacre III finally hits DVD as well.

Radioland Murders (Universal Studios Home Entertainment, Blu-ray)

From the mind of George Lucas, Radioland Murders is a star-studded, madcap murder-mystery that brings back the heyday of live radio! The excitement begins as Chicago radio station WBN celebrates its first night on the air, complete with live dramas, comedy acts and orchestral interludes. The real action, however, is behind the scenes. Someone is murdering the company employees one by one, and station secretary Penny (Mary Stuart Masterson) and her estranged husband Roger (Brian Benben) must join forces to find the killer. The loony suspects - and potential victims - include the eccentric sound effects man (Christopher Lloyd), the military-minded station owner (Ned Beatty), the sultry singer (Anita Morris), the slick announcer (Corbin Bernsen), and the toupee-topped director (Jeffrey Tambor). Before the night is over, there will be romance, thrilling chases, narrow escapes, and a spellbinding action-packed climax!

The Velocipastor (Wild Eye Releasing, DVD)

HE'S A MAN OF THE CLAW! After losing his parents, a priest travels to China, where he inherits a mysterious ability that allows him to turn into a dinosaur. At first horrified by this new power, a prostitute convinces him to use it to fight crime... and ninjas.

Vice Squad: Collector’s Edition (Scream Factory, Blu-ray)

Season Hubley (Hardcore) stars as Princess, a single mom by day, a Hollywood prostitute by night. A volatile cop, Tom Walsh (Gary Swanson, The Guardian) uses her to trap a sadistic pimp named Ramrod (Wings Hauser, Mutant), who murdered one of her friends. But when Ramrod escapes police custody, Princess is in grave danger. No matter which way she turns, Ramrod is coming for her. Walsh and the entire police force are out looking to catch him. Tonight, the neon slime will be on full display and the city of Los Angeles will explode with furious vengeance and violence!
