Some very sad news is being reported today, as actor Bernard Fox has passed away at the age of 89.

The news of Bernard Fox's passing comes from multiple sources, including The Hollywood Reporter. Fox's publicist Harlan Boll revealed that Fox's cause of death was heart failure. The actor passed away at the Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys, California.

Fox had a prolific career, and is perhaps best known for playing Dr. Bombay on Bewitched and Colonel Crittendon on Hogan's Heroes. Additionally, he had a powerful presence on the big screen in the key role as Col. Archibald Gracie in James Cameron's Titanic.

Fox was also active in the horror genre, playing the scene-stealing, magnificent Captain Winston Havlock in 1999's The Mummy, Squire Lester Moresby in Munster, Go Home!, Dr. Watson in 1972's The Hound of the Baskervilles, and Inspector McDowal in 1978's Alien Zone.

Fox's TV credits included Night Gallery, Columbo, M*A*S*H, Murder, She Wrote, and Punky Brewster.

Our thoughts go out to Fox's family and friends during this difficult time.
