Earlier this week, Activision officially revealed Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Developed by Treyarch, segments of the game will be set during a fictional cold war in 2025 and we'll be getting a more sci-fi version of Call of Duty than any of the previous games. Treyarch is known for including Zombies mode in their games and it has been confirmed that it will return for Black Ops II. We have a some details on the expanded Zombies co-op mode, along with the first teaser art.

During a recent interview, Treyarch head Mark Lamia provided some details on Zombies mode team and what to expect:

“[We have given the] zombie team free reign to do pretty much whatever they want with the mode regardless of the direction the campaign is headed in... It's a totally different frame of mind when you sitting down to play zombies. It's you and your friends and its coop and it's blasting Zombies....Black Ops II has the most ambitious zombies that we have ever created. If you ask zombies players what they want, they want more zombies. They are going to get that, more game modes and more ways to play it,"

Zombies mode has only allowed 4 players at a time, but it sounds like we'll be getting up an eight-player co-op this time around: "The multiplayer engine can throw around twice as many shambling corpses at once, and it can handle a co-op tally double that of Black Ops 1′s.”

With a release date of November 13th, we still have plenty of time to learn more about the upcoming Zombies mode. Last time around, they brought in special guest characters, such as Michael Rooker and George Romero. We'd expect something similar this time and are looking forward to seeing what they come up with.
