It was recently announced that Scarlett Johansson, James D'Arcy, and Helen Mirren would join Anthony Hopkins in Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho. We now have details on who will round out the rest of the cast.

Jessica Biel, Toni Collette, Danny Huston, Michael Stuhlbarg and Michael Wincott are in the process of joining the cast.

Variety reports that "Collette would play Peggy Robertson, Hitchcock's longtime assistant; Huston would play Whitfield Cook, Alma's friend; Stuhlbarg would play Lew Wasserman, Hitchcock's charismatic agent and Hollywood-savvy friend; and Wincott would play Ed Gein, the serial killer upon whom the "Psycho" book and movie are based".

Anthony Hopkins will be playing Alfred Hitcock, with Helen Mirren playing his wife. Jessica Biel will play actress Vera Miles, Scarlett Johansson will play Janet Leigh, and James D’Arcy has been hired for the part of Anthony Perkins.

In January 2011 we first reported on this project will be directed by Sacha Gervasi. The film is based on a book that details the struggles Alfred Hitchcock faced creating Psycho:

“The book, published in 1998, tracks how Hitchcock, at the height of his game as a director, decided to make a ‘lowly’ horror movie. No studio wanted to touch it initially so Hitchcock scrounged for financing by himself. The movie, of course, became one of his biggest hits and one of the most influential of all time.”
