After being in development for a number of years and with multiple directors, Universal's new Dracula movie picked up steam when Luke Evans signed on for the lead role. We've already reported on some of the supporting actors who will be joining him and we have one more to add to the list.

According to Deadline, Zach McGowan (Shameless - pictured below, Black Sails) is the latest addition to the cast and will play a gypsy chief named Shkelgim. He'll be joined by Dominic Cooper and Sarah Gadon, who have been cast in unspecified roles. With that being said, the plot description here suggests that Cooper could be playing the sultan and Gadon could be Vlad's wife:

"The script tells of a young prince who, when the lives of his wife and child are put in danger by a bloodthirsty sultan, risks his soul to save them, and in the process becomes the first vampire."

Universal plans to release Dracula on August 8th, 2014. Gary Shore will direct the film from a script written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. Check back soon for additional casting news and story information.
