The Purge had such a successful opening weekend at the box office that a sequel went into development almost right away. The first bit of casting news came in last week and we now have word of four additional actors who are taking part in the movie.

According to THR, previously announced Frank Grillo will star in The Purge 2 with Michael K. Williams (Boardwalk Empire), Carmen Ejogo, Zach Gilford (Friday Night Lights) and Kiele Sanchez (A Perfect Getaway). Unfortunately, plot details are being kept secret, but we know that James Monaco, who wrote, produced, and directed the first movie, has returned for the sequel. We'll let readers know as soon as more details become available, but for those that missed the first movie, here's the synopsis:

"One night a year, all crime is legal and no one is safe in The Purge, a thought-provoking thriller from director and writer James DeMonaco (Assault on Precinct 13, The Negotiator) and producer Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity, Insidious, Sinister). In a future America, the government has sanctioned an annual 12-hour period, The Purge, in which any and all criminal activity, including murder, is legal. On this night, one family is tested to see how far they will go to protect themselves when the vicious outside world breaks into their home."

The Purge 2 will be released by Universal on June 20th, 2014.
