Guillermo Del Toro is busy getting Pacific Rim ready to shoot for Legendary Pictures and it looks like casting has begun. According to Deadline, Sons of Anarchy's Charlie Hunnam is currently negotiating to star in the Godzilla-like monster movie:

“Set in a future in which malevolent creatures threaten the earth, the planet must band together and use highly advanced technology to eradicate the growing menace.”

With false starts on both The Hobbit and At the Mountains of Madness, it is nice to see this project moving forward at a steady pace. Hellboy II was released back in 2008 and it's unfortunate that it has taken so long for such a visionary director to get back behind the camera. Shooting is expected to start in September, with a planned release date of Summer 2013.
