Hello, readers! For the last few years, we here at Daily Dead have celebrated some of the best horror and sci-fi offerings that were celebrating their 30th anniversaries, and next week, we’ll be embarking on our latest series, Class of 1989. To get you guys ready for all the festivities, I’ve put together this list of all the genre films released during ’89 that are currently streaming on a variety of platforms—some free with ads (like Vudu, Tubi, and Popcornflix), and some through pay services (Shudder, Amazon Prime, Hulu, etc.).

So, if you’d like to get yourself ready to head back to the glorious year of 1989, here’s a rundown of where you can stream some of the great movies released that year.

The Creed family leaves the city for the country but their idyllic new life becomes short-lived when the cemetery next door unleashes its evil curse.

Leviathan (Available on Vudu & Tubi)

A group of deep-sea miners discover a sunken Russian submarine containing a genetics lab, which apparently had created a monster. It slips onto their own ship and they must try to destroy it as it picks them off, one by one. Often described as "ALIEN in the ocean," it captures much of the suspense of the space thriller.

Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (Available on Hulu & Amazon Prime)

After a shocking return from beyond the grave, the diabolical Jason Voorhees ships out aboard a boat filled with graduating high school seniors on a trip bound for New York City, which soon transforms into the ultimate voyage of the damned.

Heathers (Available on Netflix Instant & Shudder)

Veronica hates the girls in her popular clique. Enter mysterious newcomer J.D., who offers her the perfect solution to end their social tyranny.

976-EVIL (Available on Sony Crackle)

Director Robert "Freddy Krueger" England dials up a contemporary gothic tale of high-tech horror in 976-EVIL. High school underdog Hoax Wilmoth (Stephen Geoffreys, Fright Night), fills up the idle hours in his seedy little hometown fending off the local leather-jacketed thugs, avoiding his overbearing, religious fanatic mother (Sandy Dennis) and dreaming of a date with trailer park temptress Suzie (Lezie Deane). But his quietly desperate life takes a terrifying turn when his cousin, Spike, introduces him to an unusual new hobby - phoning in for his Horoscope. Because instead of the slightly kinky astrological predictions he's expecting, Hoax is hooked-up with a compellingly hideous demonic force that slowly begins to overtake his entire life. Now there's more than just a phone bill to pay for anyone and everyone who ever dared cross "the neighborhood nerd".

A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child (Available on Shudder)

Did you ever see a dream stalking...? The kids on Elm Street have. For five years, a walking nightmare named Freddy Krueger has haunted their sleep--seeking revenge for the horribly disfiguring death he suffered at the hands of the children's parents. Now, through the dreams of an unborn child, Freddy has resurrected himself ... and he's looking for new victims.

Maniac Cop 2 (Available on Tubi & Popcornflix)

A formerly heroic cop returns from the dead and joins forces with a psychotic serial killer to destroy his enemies and settle scores.

My Mom’s A Werewolf (Available on Amazon Prime)

Frustrated housewife Leslie visits an animal shop to purchase a flea-collar. Not knowing the owner is a werewolf, she accepts his invitation to lunch and later to his apartment. Through a bite in her toe, he starts her slow transformation. Leslie desperately tries to hide the process from her family, but her daughter Jennifer and her friend recognize what's going on, and help to kill the beast.

Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (Available on Shudder)

Following her mysterious behavior at the conclusion of HALLOWEEN 4: THE RETURN OF MICHAEL MYERS, young Jamie (Danielle Harris) is committed to the psychiatric care of Dr. Loomis (Donald Pleasence). Meanwhile, Michael Myers is presumed dead following a shoot-out with the Haddonfield Police and a fatal fall down a mineshaft entrance. But all is not as it seems. A well-meaning derelict nurses Michael back to health, and one year later he is back to kill again! Jamie finds herself the object of Michael’s murderous rage, and along with her new friends and Dr. Loomis, she tries to prevent Michael from continuing his bloody rampage.

This time, the camp set in the deep, dark woods is a camp for troubled youths. The psychotic killer that has roamed the woods and been the topic of many ghost stories, is still lurking about. He has come up with a permanent cure for the teens' problems as the body count piles up.

With a murderous, sadistic maniac loose in their grocery store, a group of employees band together to stay alive and expose the killer.

The ’Burbs (Available on Amazon Prime)

With nothing to do and time on their hands, Ray Peterson (Tom Hanks) and his friends decided to investigate their mysterious new neighbors, the Klopeks. Spooked into action, Ray and his wacky neighbors go 'ghoul-busting', and who would have imagined that they had suddenly trespassed into terror.

A maniacal mass murderer returns from the depths of hell to seek supernatural revenge against the police officer who captured him in the first place.

A beautiful feminist scientist and her sarcastic trail guide run up against a clan of scantily clad women while out in the wilderness of California.

Brian knows there are creatures under his bed. When he faces his fears and confronts them, however, he makes some hilariously weird new friends.

The Return of Swamp Thing (Available on Vudu)

When a trio of friends snooping at the school science lab discover a corpse and accidentally let it roll away, they need a replacement fast. Puppet Master: 13 Nights of Elvira Edition (Available on Tubi)

The cult classic gets the hook, when Elvira's pulling the strings. There's more Punch than Judy in this cinematrocity.

The Toxic Avenger III: The Last Temptation of Toxie (Available on Amazon Prime)

Toxic moonshine turns rowdy hicks into backwoods zombies, which is bad news for the day-tripping city-dwellers out for a walk in the country.
