*Updated with more details by Scream Factory.* If you think of Mayor MacReady whenever you see a can of Mr. Pibb, or if alien slugs come to mind instead of Freddy's clawed glove when you take a bath, then chances are that James Gunn's Slither has left quite an impression on you.

Early this year, Scream Factory announced that they would release Slither on a Collector's Edition Blu-ray this summer, and now Gunn himself has revealed (on Facebook) the new cover art and July 25th release date for the Blu-ray, which will include a new audio commentary by Gunn and members of the cast.

Additional special features beyond the audio commentary will be announced in late May, and we'll be sure to keep Daily Dead readers updated as more details are revealed.

From James Gunn: "I'd like to officially announce that after MANY YEARS of waiting, and me endlessly bitching to the rights holders, FINALLY my directorial debut Slither will be available on Blu-Ray. The wonderful folks from Scream Factory will be distributing a brand new edition on July 25 of this year. It will have lots of cool extras including a NEW COMMENTARY FROM ME AND THE CAST. It's like "When Harry Met Sally" only it's "When Gunn Met Rooker (and Fillion and Banks and Henry)." These people all changed my life. And Slither is how they did it.

You can buy it here www.shoutfactory.com/…/film-hor…/slither-collector-s-edition or soon on Amazon, Best Buy, and other online retailers.
Oh and check out the cool new artwork. I love it."
