The slasher video game Dead by Daylight has already given gamers the gory goods by adding Michael Myers and Leatherface as killers in their lethal lineup, but now it looks like the dream stalker of Springwood could join the video game's blood-spattered ranks...

In a new video released today, Dead by Daylight warned gamers not to fall asleep as screeching slash marks were etched into metal in a pattern similar to Freddy Krueger's bladed glove.

For those unfamiliar with Dead by Daylight, the video game (available on Steam, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One) allows you to play as a killer who stalks survivors and tries to kill them one by one, or as a survivor fighting to live to see another day. When Dead by Daylight released their Haddonfield map, it allowed gamers to play as both Michael Myers and Laurie Strode, so it's possible that if Freddy Krueger were added to the game, we could see one of the protagonists from the Elm Street series added as well, such as Nancy.

There has been no official announcement from Dead by Daylight or images released showing Freddy in the game, so we'll have to wait and see if A Nightmare on Elm Street really will cross over into the popular video game, but in the meantime you can watch the new video below and you might want to start brewing some coffee just in case...
