Paramount Pictures officially partnered with Skydance Productions and Annapurna Pictures for a reboot of The Terminator franchise. Currently titled "Terminator," the movie is set to be released on June 26th, 2015. We've been curious to learn who they'd hire to direct and a new report reveals the person who is close to signing on.

According to Variety, Alan Taylor is in talks to direct the first of what is planned as a new stand-alone trilogy of Terminator films. Recently, Taylor directed Thor: The Dark World and previously directed six episodes of Game of Thrones, nine episodes of The Sopranos, and he has more than a dozen additional TV credits.

Laeta Kalorgridis (Avatar) and Patrick Lussier (Drive Angry) are attached to write the screenplay. While it was previously speculated that Arnold Schwarzenegger might return, there is no casting news as this time. We'll update readers as soon as more details become available.
