While The Walking Dead video game has been getting a lot of attention lately, you may have missed the news on Deadlight, the upcoming zombie side-scroller being developed exclusively for Xbox LIVE Arcade. To get everyone caught up, we have a collection of past video releases, plus new screenshots and details from E3.

"In an apocalyptic world where existence is futile, a solitary man treks the American west coast. The year is 1986 and a mysterious disease has decimated mankind, transforming people into killer automatons. Survival is the measure of all in this original cinematic puzzle platformer. Deadlight is the frightening odyssey of an ordinary man fighting extinction like a flame in the desert. Hopeless and unable to escape the horrors of a dying world, Randall Wayne will reveal himself as a natural born survivor."

Microsoft has announced that Deadlight will be released as part of their 2012 Summer of Arcade program. Deadlight, Dust: An Elsyian Tail, Hybrid, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD, and Wreckateer are the titles set for release over a five-week period. A specific release date has not been set, but the program is expected to begin in July.
