A&E is looking to check viewers into Bates Motel a little earlier this year, as it's been reported that the fifth and final season of the series will premiere in February instead of its usual debut in March.

Yahoo! recently revealed that Bates Motel Season 5 will premiere on Monday, February 20th at 10:00pm EST on A&E (the news was confirmed by TVLine).

The fifth and final season will see the return of core cast members Vera Farmiga (“Norma”), Freddie Highmore (“Norman”), Max Thieriot (“Dylan Massett”), and Nestor Carbonell (“Sheriff Alex Romero”), as well as Ryan Hurst ("Chick) and Kenny Johnson ("Caleb"). Additionally, Rihanna will play Marion Crane, the iconic "shower scene" character played by Janet Leigh in Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho.

Speaking with Yahoo!, Bates Motel writer and executive producer Kerry Ehrin talked about entering Psycho territory with Rihanna's take on Marion Crane:

"The episodes that she’s in were very much designed to be like a collision between Psycho and Bates Motel, and really it’s the first and only time we’ve ever truly stepped into Psycho."
