It has been a few months since we've heard anything about the latest Resident Evil film, but Ryan over at STYD has learned that Resident Evil: Retribution is expected to start filming on October 10th. Shooting locations will include both Toronto, Canada and Tokyo, Japan.

There has been no word on who will direct the film, but don't count out the return of Paul W.S. Anderson, who hasn't lined up another project at the moment. We also expect many of the previous film's cast members to return, as Milla Jovovich has confirmed that the the new Resident Evil will be a continuation of the previous storyline as opposed to a rumored reboot.

Resident Evil: Retribution is expected to be shot in 3D and has a scheduled release date of September 14th, 2012.
