With World War Z being a big summer release for Paramount, we're not surprised to hear that a line of action figures is being developed. Word from Toy Fair is that Jazwares acquired the action figure license and is developing a series of 6 inch figures based on the movie.

Multiple sets of figures are in the planning stages, but the first series has been announced and includes: Running Zombie, Soldier Zombie, Rebel Zombie, Firefighter Zombie and Gerry Lane (Brad Pitt's character). Jazwares currently produce a variety of toys, including figures based on Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Plants vs Zombies, and more. There are no images of the figures available, but we'll post them as soon as they make their way online.

Based on the Max Brooks novel of the same name, World War Z was directed by Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace) and stars Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos, Matthew Fox, and James Badge.

“World War Z tells the story of the world’s desperate battle against the zombie threat with a series of first-person accounts ‘as told to the author’ by various characters around the world. A Chinese doctor encounters one of the earliest zombie cases at a time when the Chinese government is ruthlessly suppressing any information about the outbreak that will soon spread across the globe. The tale then follows the outbreak via testimony of smugglers, intelligence officials, military personnel and many others who struggle to defeat the zombie menace.”

World War Z will be released on June 21st. If you’re interested in checking out the first teaser trailer, visit our earlier coverage at:
