Drowning is horrifying enough, but drowning in a grain bin is another nightmare altogether. That's what looks to be happening to Laura Vandervoort's character in the first image from the new Saw movie Jigsaw.

The new Jigsaw image (see below) was unveiled by EW, who also caught up with filmmakers (and brothers) Peter and Michael Spierig to talk about helming the eighth film in the booby-trap-filled franchise. EW reports that Jigsaw takes place ten years after the meticulously intertwined deaths orchestrated (even from beyond the grave) by John Kramer (Tobin Bell), aka Jigsaw. According to Peter, "“Bodies are turning up, and they’re linked to Jigsaw — or a Jigsaw copycat."

While the Spierigs did not confirm whether Tobin Bell will reprise his role as Jigsaw in the film bearing his character's name, Peter did have this to say: "The DNA of Tobin Bell is all over this film."

As for the franchise's traditionally gruesome traps, Michael told EW, "We’ve got some pretty wild traps in the film — we don’t shy away from the gore. It’s such a perfect Halloween scarefest."

Starring Matt Passmore, Callum Keith Rennie, Clé Bennett, Hannah Emily Anderson, Laura Vandervoort, Mandela Van Peebles, Paul Braunstein, Brittany Allen, and Josiah Black, Jigsaw is scheduled to come out in theaters from Lionsgate on Octbober 27th. The sequel will have a presence at this year's Comic-Con as well, including a Tobin Bell autograph signing.

Stay tuned to Daily Dead for more updates on Jigsaw, and check out the new image below. Are you excited for the next film in the Saw franchise?
