During the PaleyFest panel for American Horror Story in March, Ryan Murphy revealed that he had been thinking about ideas for a potential companion series and it now looks like we could see something that will coincide with the release of American Horror Story: CovenHere's what FX Networks CEO John Landgraf had to say during a recent interview:

Via THR: "I'd love to do it," Landgraf says of the potential talk show. "We're thinking about it. If we do it I don't think we'll necessarily do it the way AMC does, as a linear thing. We might do an online thing. We haven't made a final decision but I think there's a decent possibility we're going to do something like that for Coven." ...The executive noted that the network has done a "fair amount of legwork" on the potential companion, adding that it was too early to consider potential hosts for the entry. Also yet to be decided is what level of involvement Murphy would have.

A companion series could be as straightforward as what AMC is doing with Talking Dead, but it could also be something that's tied more to the show, like Ryan Murphy's The Glee Project. It sounds like specific details won't be available until closer to the third season premiere date, but we'll let readers know if we hear anything.

American Horror Story: Coven will premiere later this year and thirteen episodes are planned. A number of actors from past seasons will return to play new characters, including Taissa Farmiga, Frances Conroy, Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe and Evan Peters. New additions to the cast include Kathy Bates, Gabourey Sidibe, Angela Bassett, Patti LuPone and Emma Roberts. To hear more about the new season and a tease of the companion piece series, check out the PaleyFest panel video below.
