We've really enjoyed the previous Toho Godzilla releases, but there are still classic Godzilla movies that have not seen a proper release and we'd also like to see re-releases on Blu-ray. Thankfully, it looks like we're going to start seeing Godzilla movies moving to the high definition format later this year.

Media Blasters had recently announced that they will be releasing DVD/Blu-ray editions of both Destroy All Monsters and Godzilla vs Megalon in the US:

"For the first time, both films will be re-mastered in high definition and released on DVD and Blu-ray! DESTROY ALL MONSTERS will receive a worthy deluxe treatment to provide fans with a noticeable upgrade from its previous DVD incarnation. GODZILLA VS. MEGALON marks the first time that this long sought after title will be officially released uncut and widescreen on DVD and Blu-ray. Both films will feature exciting extras!"

We know that Godzilla vs Megalon will be released on November 29th, but Destroy All Monsters is only tentatively set for a late October release at this time. We'll provide another update once we have details on the extras, cover art, or a final release date for Destroy All Monsters.
