We've been excited for Daily Dead readers to see Villains since Heather Wixson gave it a 4.5 star review at SXSW, and after acquiring US rights to the dark comedy, Gunpowder & Sky will release Villains in theaters this fall.

A specific release date for Villains has yet to be announced, but we'll keep Daily Dead readers updated as more details are revealed.

In the meantime, in case you missed it, read Heather Wixson's interview with co-writers and co-directors Dan Berk and Robert Olsen, as well as co-star Jeffrey Donovan.

Written and directed by Dan Berk & Robert Olsen, Villains stars Bill Skarsgård, Maika Monroe, Jeffrey Donovan, and Kyra Sedgwick

Synopsis: "Mickey and Jules are lovers on the run, headed southbound for a fresh start in the Sunshine State. When their car dies after a gas station robbery, they break into a nearby house looking for a new set of wheels. What they find instead is a dark secret and a sweet-as-pie pair of homeowners who will do anything to keep it from getting out."
