Since I showed some love to Netflix yesterday, I thought it was only proper today to put the spotlight on Amazon Prime and their vast streaming library that features hundreds of genre titles.

There’s no denying that it can be an overwhelming experience to try and navigate your way through over 200 different pages of movies, so I went ahead and put together a list of 31 different films that should help you get into the Halloween spirit throughout the month of October. And since variety is the spice of life, I tried to give you guys an assortment of different sub-genres, so that you should be able to find something to fit any horror-loving mood! Madman

At a summer camp for youths, a cocky pre-teen calls out the name of mass serial killer "Madman Marz". Suddenly, counselors are being maimed and slaughtered in various ways by the backwoodsman who has returned when his name was called. 

Night of the Living Dead – Digitally Remastered

The original zombie movie, a group of people hide from bloodthirsty "living dead" monsters in a Pennsylvania farmhouse. A digitally remastered version of the George Romero classic.

The Slumber Party Massacre 

An eighteen-year-old high school girl is left at home by her parents and she decides to have a slumber party. Meanwhile, a murderer of five people with a propensity for power tools has escaped and is at large, and eventually makes his way to the party, where the guests begin experiencing an attrition problem, with only the newest girl in school to help them. 

Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II

Thirty years after her accidental death at her 1957 senior prom, the tortured spirit of prom queen Mary Lou Maloney returns to seek revenge. 

The Dark Half 

A precocious writer undergoes a grotesque operation which reveals a twin in his brain. The twin goes on a murderous rampage--leaving all of the evidence pointed at the writer.

House on Haunted Hill (1959 - in color)

The sinister Price invites his enemies to spend the night in his decaying, old, creepy mansion with a violent past. He offers them $10,000 each if they can spend the whole night there. He gives each one a tiny coffin with a gun enclosed and then comes up with all sorts of devices to cause them to use the guns on each other.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre: 40th Anniversary Edition

Five youths on a weekend getaway fall prey to a depraved family of cannibals in Tobe Hooper's masterpiece of subversive horror, now featuring a 4k digital transfer and all-new surround sound mix supervised by the director. 

Chopping Mall

Eight teenagers are trapped after hours in a high tech shopping mall and pursued by three murderous security robots out of control.

Dan Curtis’ Dracula

Jack Palance stars as Count Dracula in this newly-restored and terrifying adaptation of Bram Stoker's classic vampire legend written by sci-fi/horror master Richard Matheson and produced by the legendary Dan Curtis (Dark Shadows).

The Last Man on Earth (1964 - in color)

Death Spa

House on Sorority Row 

Seven sorority sisters throw a graduation party and play an innocent prank that goes horribly wrong. Winding up with a dead body, they panic and try to hide it. But someone witnessed the crime and begins to stalk and murder them, one by one, in this cult classic.

An American Werewolf in London 

David Kessler and Jack Goodman arrive in Northern England for a walking tour. One night, a beast attacks them, killing Jack. Weeks later Jack returns to warn David that a werewolf was their assailant, and that he is now the last of the werewolves!

One Dark Night

Famed Russian occultist, Karl Raymar is found dead in his home, with the bodies of six dead women, and no real explanation. This mystery stresses Raymar's daughter Olivia and causes her to have strange visions. Meanwhile high school student Julie Wells is at the final step of being initiated into an exclusive club, to be initiated she must spend a night in the town's mausoleum... 

Pet Sematary 

The Creeds have just moved to a new house in the countryside. Their house is perfect, except for two things: the semi-trailers that roar past on the narrow road, and the mysterious cemetery in the woods behind the house. 

Spider Baby

The Merrye children all suffer from a rare genetic malady that causes its victims to mentally regress to a condition of "pre-human savagery and cannibalism."

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre II

A radio host is victimized by the cannibal family as a former Texas Marshall hunts them.

Ghoulies/Ghoulies II

A young man discovers he has the ability to conjure up satanic spirits.

The Ghoulies are back in this sequel in which they take over a traveling carnival giving a park full of teenagers a night they'll never forget.

Alice Sweet Alice

After a young girl is brutally murdered during her first communion, her strange and withdrawn older sister becomes the main suspect.

Curtains

Six young actresses auditioning for a movie role at a remote mansion are targeted by a mysterious masked murderer.

Inferno (1980)

The tenants of a Manhattan apartment are terrorized by deadly spirits. They are decapitated, clawed to death by cats, burned, and attacked by a knife-wielding killer. 

Children Shouldn’t Play with Dead Things 

Actors led by Alan Ormsby go to a graveyard on a remote island to perform a Satanic Ritual. The ritual works and soon the dead are walking about and eating the flesh of their victims. 

Stagefright

While a group of young actors rehearse a new musical about a mass murderer, a notorious psychopath escapes from a nearby insane asylum. But when the show's director locks his cast in the theater overnight, the madman is accidentally locked inside as well. Now, a killer with acting in his blood has gone berserk for the blood of actors.

Shock (1977)

Gas leaking from a nuclear power plant turns children into deadly huggers with black fingernails.
