We'll have to wait a little longer to see the new cinematic take on Mike Mignola's iconic comic book character with sawed-off horns.
Multiple sources, including The Hollywood Reporter, share the news that the new Hellboy movie is now slated to come out on April 12th, 2019, moving it a few months from its previous January 11th release date.
Back in 2017, it was reported that a Hellboy reboot was moving forward at Lionsgate and Millennium with Neil Marshall (The Descent) in the director's chair and David Harbour (Stranger Things, Suicide Squad) playing Hellboy.
The new film is a reboot that is separate from 2004's Hellboy and 2008's Hellboy II: The Golden Army, which were directed by Guillermo del Toro and starred Ron Perlman in the titular role.
In addition to Harbour, the new Hellboy movie will co-star Milla Jovovich as villainous sorceress known as the Blood Queen, with Ian McShane in the role of Professor Broom and Daniel Dae Kim playing Ben Daimio.
Marshall is directing from a screenplay co-written by Christopher Golden, Andrew Cosby, and Hellboy creator Mike Mignola. Larry Gordon, Lloyd Levin, and Dark Horse Entertainment's Mike Richardson are producing the project.
On October 6th, the cast and crew of the new Hellboy movie will be at New York Comic-Con, where the film's first trailer is expected to be unveiled. We'll be sure to keep Daily Dead readers updated on further details.
