A hiking trip turns into a fight for survival in Pitfall, heading to VOD on June 30th from Cineverse. Ahead of the new release, we have an exclusive preview just for Daily Dead readers!

Cineverse (Nasdaq: CNVS), an entertainment technology company and studio, announced today that Pitfall will debut on Digital and Video on Demand on June 30, 2026. The film follows a remote hiking trip turned deadly when a concealed trap leaves a young man severely injured and pursued by an unknown hunter. Pitfall made its debut at Los Angeles’ Screamfest Film Festival in October 2025, followed by nationwide theatrical release through AMC Theaters in May 2026.

Pitfall stars Marshall Williams (The Ice Road, Exile), Alexandra Essoe (The Pope’s Exorcist, Midnight Mass), Richard Harmon (Final Destination: Bloodlines, The 100), Jordan Claire Robbins (The Umbrella Academy, Supernatural), Matt Hamilton (Murder for Sale, Turner & Hooch) and UFC Champion Randy Couture (The Expendables). The film is directed by James Kondelik (Behind The Walls), and written by James Kondelik and Victor Rose. The film was produced by Wai Sun Cheng and Alex Bogolomov for Pandapix Pictures in partnership with Dragon Bear Pictures.

The official synopsis is as follows: Hunted, isolated, and forced to survive by a killer’s rules, a group of hikers must escape the maze before the final move is made. In Pitfall, starring Marshall Williams, Alex Essoe, and Randy Couture, a remote wilderness trip turns deadly when Scott falls into a concealed pit trap and is left badly injured. As the group searches for help, they discover the forest has been rigged with calculated traps by an unseen hunter who is watching, testing, and manipulating their every move. To survive, they must outsmart the predator before his twisted design claims them all.
