Ghostlight Ensemble is bringing the demon hellbent on punishing bad children during the Christmas season to the stage. Written by Jaclyn Jensen and Mike Wozniak and directed by Maria Burnham, Krampus! opens on October 31st in Chicago. Also in today's Horror Highlights: instructions on how to build your own LEGO Xenomorph from Brick Team Customs and details on the Nitehawk Shorts Festival Midnite Program.

Krampus! Stage Play Details: From Facebook: "Mrs. Murray is looking forward to one final Christmas together as a family before her eldest daughter takes off to New York City with her boyfriend. And what could be more perfect than spending the holiday with her bickering family in a remote cabin in the Wisconsin woods during a snowstorm with a Christmas demon on the loose? Nothing says Christmas like abject fear.

Join Ghostlight Ensemble as we present Jaclyn Jensen and Mike Wozniak’s new take on this classic Christmas tale of switches and chains and devils who punish naughty children by stuffing them into baskets and dragging them to the fiery depths of hell.

Nitehawk Shorts Festival Midnite Program: "The Nitehawk Shorts Festival MIDNITE screening features shorts most appropriately viewed after the clock strikes twelve. Co-programmed with Shudder’s Sam Zimmerman, the Midnite program always offers the very best in new horror and science-fiction voices and the ten shorts in our 2016 presentation are no exception.

Some standouts include An Entanglement starring Shiri Appleby, Consommé, and Skin, a dark, kinky interlude where an intimate gift arrives in the mail, rekindling dormant emotions and impulses. There are quite a few New York premieres in the mix as well.

You can read more about the films at the link above. Midnite takes place Friday, November 11 at midnite (seating at 11:45pmon Friday). Includes an introduction with filmmakers."

About the Author - Tamika Jones

Tamika hails from North Beach, Maryland, a tiny town inches from the Chesapeake Bay.She knew she wanted to be an actor after reciting a soliloquy by Sojourner Truth in front of her entire fifth grade class. Since then, she's appeared in over 20 film and television projects. In addition to acting, Tamika is the Indie Spotlight manager for Daily Dead, where she brings readers news on independent horror projects every weekend.

The first horror film Tamika watched was Child's Play. Being eight years old at the time, she remembers being so scared when Chucky came to life that she projectile vomited. It's tough for her to choose only one movie as her favorite horror film, so she picked two: Nosferatu and The Stepford Wives (1975).
