Earlier this week, we reported that Bill Nighy was in talks to join I, Frankenstein. With production expected to begin in January, the cast is starting to fill out and we have a few casting updates.

Yvonne Strahovski (Chuck) is reportedly in final negotiations to join the cast. According to THR, she'll play the female lead role of "a scientist working on reanimating the dead and tricked into working for demons seeking to create an army of the undead".

Miranda Otto (The Lord of the Rings) has also joined the cast as the the queen of the gargoyles. If Bill Nighy officially signs on, he'll be playing the leader of the demons, while Socratis Otto, will be playing one of his henchmen.

Aaron Eckhart has already signed on to play the lead role of Adam Frankenstein in this modern-day spin on the Frankenstein Story:

“I, FRANKENSTEIN is a modern-day epic: Frankenstein’s creature, ADAM, has survived to present day due to a genetic quirk in his creation. Making his way to a dark, gothic metropolis, he finds himself caught in an all-out, centuries old war between two immortal clans.”

I, Frankenstein is based on a graphic novel from Kevin Grevioux (Underworld), with Stuart Beattie is directing. Production is expected to begin in Jaunary in Australia and the film is scheduled for release on February 22nd, 2013.
