With production currently underway on Paul W.S. Anderson's film adaptation of Capcom's Monster Hunter video game franchise, IGN has revealed a new photo from the movie, giving viewers an official look at the characters played by Milla Jovovich and Tony Jaa (who wields a massive Jawblade).

IGN revealed the Monster World photo on their website, and you can also view it below. The photo features Jovovich's character, Lt. Artemis, and Tony Jaa as The Hunter.

Similar to her role as Alice in Anderson's Resident Evil movies, Jovovich's role is not from the video game source material, but is instead a new character in the world of Monster Hunter.

While a release date for Constantin Film's Monster Hunter movie has yet to be revealed, Screen Gems did unveil the official synopsis (via IGN):

"Behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity. When Lt. Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her loyal soldiers are transported from our world to the new world, the unflappable lieutenant receives the shock of her life. In her desperate battle for survival against enormous enemies with incredible powers and unstoppable, revolting attacks, Artemis will team up with a mysterious man who has found a way to fight back."

In addition to playing Artemis in Monster HunterJovovich is also playing the villainous role of the Blood Queen in the upcoming Hellboy reboot.
