We’re back with the latest edition of the Indie Spotlight, which contains all the independent horror news recently sent our way. This week’s edition looks be our biggest yet, with trailers for Molly Crow and VIViD,  news on the Shriekfest Film Festival, a new clip from Bad Kids Go to Hell, multiple short films, and much more:

First Details on Alice D: "In the early 1900's the Davenport House was a famous and successful brothel, until a young prostitute named Alice killed herself there. After her death, the brothel became haunted by Alice's ghost, and was eventually abandoned. One hundred years later, the old structure is renovated into a beautiful mansion. It is still rumored to inhabit the ghost of Alice. Despite this, the new owner; the rich and arrogant heir to the Davenport fortune, decides to throw a wild party for his first night in the house."

Shriekfest Film Festival 2013's Call for Entries: "Shriekfest, the Los Angeles Horror/Sci-Fi Film Festival continues its tradition as Los Angeles' Premier horror film event. Now, in it's 13th year, Shriekfest takes place at the legendary Raleigh Studios, which is the largest independent studio operator in the country. Italian Short Film, The Path (No Way Out): "The Path (No Way Out) is a psyco thriller with bits of surreal tone. A woman takes a path she will never return from."

Images from Heart of a Corpse and Bloody Dreadful: Justin Sane is the author and illustrator of the two part comic series, Heart of a Corpse, and new ongoing comic anthology, Bloody Dreadful.

Heart of a Corpse comes in two parts, and each part has a different title. Heart of a Corpse: An Undead Engagement follows "a young hearse driver who proposes to his love, the beautiful mortician's daughter, Annabel. However, when a rival suitor, driven by greed, finds out about the betrothal, he takes matters into his own hands to ensure that their impending marriage is dead and buried."

Heart of a Corpse: An Undead Elopement gives us "Annabel, the mortician's daughter, mourning the loss of her fiance, whose tragic death has driven her into a state of crippling melancholy. Furthering her depression are mysterious gifts left upon her doorstep - which her deceased love, compelled by a heart that never managed to decompose, rises nightly from his grave to deliver."

New Trailer for The Interview: "The Interview is a film about a young couple, Sam and Julie (late 20s) based out of Miami, Florida, working on a documentary about serial killers. Ombis Trailer Released: "Ombis’ story focuses on peaceful, rustic Metzburgh which is a former industrial town whose glory days are long past after the collapse of Metzburgh Grain. Mark Lowe (Jason John Beebe) and his ex-girlfriend Lucy Greenheart (Sarah Manzella) are stuck in a lovers quarrel when a meteorite crash lands in the quiet community. Glen (Robert Bozek ), an ex-employee of the grain silos who became homeless after the collapse of the mills, stumbles upon the fiery crash. Unaware that his find could be dangerous, he gets too close and a chemical poison sprays out of the meteorite, enveloping him. The chemical agent known as Ombis begins to turn his insides into a slimly substance. Unable to stop the spread of the infection, the townsfolk begin to be overrun by the virus and the collateral damage begins to add up. A special containment team shows up to try and keep order and contain the plague. The human struggle of the residents of Metzburgh and their fight for survival then begins as the village is overrun with the alien invasion and the mutated humans that it creates.

Valley of the Demon Teaser Trailer: "The debut feature from Welsh director Rhodri Jones is an independent horror film set in the Rhondda. A group of friends hiking through a forest to an illegal rave are set upon by demonic forces, raised by a satanic clan who are intent on bringing hell to the Valleys; plummeting the heavenly Welsh countryside into a nightmare of darkness and demons.

"I wanted to make a full on 80's-style Blood Splattering gore film that holds that nostalgic feel that you can only get from those types of movies they used to make in the 80s" said the director. "My friends who read the script told me it read like Evil Dead on Steroids!"

    The first horror film Tamika watched was Child's Play. Being eight years old at the time, she remembers being so scared when Chucky came to life that she projectile vomited. It's tough for her to choose only one movie as her favorite horror film, so she picked two: Nosferatu and The Stepford Wives (1975).
