We are sad to report that horror queen Ingrid Pitt has passed today at the age of 73. Famous for The Vampire Lovers, Countess Dracula, The Wicker Man, and The House That Dripped Blood (a personal favorite), Ingrid Pitt did not just play sexual characters, but strong female leads that were an inspiration for future filmmakers and actresses.
Her daughter, Stephanie, had some great things to say about her: "She could be incredibly generous, loving, and she'll be sorely missed,..." "... She added that she wanted her mother to be remembered as the Countess Dracula with the "wonderful teeth and the wonderful bosom"."
With her films still being watched 30-40 years after their release, Ingrid Pitt will no doubt be remembered as "Countess Dracula" for decades to come.
