In the battle between the humans and the Kaiju, Idris Elba left an indelible impression as Jaeger pilot Stacker Pentecost in 2013's Pacific Rim. With John Boyega playing Stacker's son, the Pentecost family line looks to continue their tradition of saving the world in Pacific Rim: Uprising, and the actor has now unveiled a new image of his character in the sequel.

Posted on Twitter, the image of Boyega (see below) came with the caption, "I am Pentecost," and features Boyega having a quiet moment, perhaps before entering the battle against the next wave of Kaiju...

Produced by Guillermo del Toro (who directed the first film in the franchise), Pacific Rim: Uprising is directed by Steven S. DeKnight (Spartacus, Netflix’s Daredevil) from a screenplay by Derek Connolly (Jurassic World), who was brought aboard to work on the screenplay after an earlier draft was written by Jon Spaihts (The Mummy, Doctor Strange, Prometheus).

A Legendary film, Pacific Rim: Uprising is scheduled for a February 23rd, 2018 release from Universal Pictures, and we'll be sure to keep Daily Dead readers updated as more details are revealed.
