For those of you looking to beat the heat and escape the dog days of summer, July’s VOD and digital slate of horror and sci-fi titles has got you more than covered. The month kicks off with nine different movies arriving on various platforms on July 3rd, including Another WolfCop, Ready Player One, Big Legend, Blumhouse’s Truth or Dare, Hover, and You Were Never Really Here (this one hits digital outlets that day, then makes its way to VOD on the 17th), just to name a few.
July 10th is another busy release day, with The Lighthouse, Traffik, and Darkness Reigns all making their digital debuts, and then just a few days later, fans can check out The Devil’s Doorway, Siberia and The Night Eats the World on Friday the 13th. The month’s releases wrap up with Breaking In and Sunset Society on the 24th, and then 14 Cameras hits on July 27th.
Another WolfCop (RLJE Entertainment) – July 3rd
A month has passed since the dark eclipse transformed hard-drinking Officer Lou Garou (Leo Fafard) into the infamous lycanthrope crime-fighter. Although the evil that controlled Woodhaven was defeated, the community is far from returning to normal. A villainous entrepreneur (Yannick Bisson) is looking to open a new brewery and revive the local hockey team, but it’s clear he has ulterior motives. With a new mayor (Kevin Smith) and the new chief of police (Amy Matysio), WolfCop has his work cut out for him when he has to save the town all over again.

HOVER takes place in the near future, where environmental strain has caused food shortages around the world. Technology provides a narrow path forward, with agricultural drones maximizing the yield from what land remains. Two compassionate care providers, Claudia (Coleman) and her mentor John (Craig Grant), work to assist sick farmland inhabitants in ending their lives. After John dies under mysterious circumstances, a group of locals helps Claudia to uncover a deadly connection between the health of her clients and the technology they are using.
Mad Genius (Film Mode Entertainment) – July 3rd
Mad genius and hacker, Mason Wells (Chris Mason, ''Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists'') has a mission to “hack the human mind” in order to save humanity, but first must reconcile his multiple alter egos. His most threatening alter ego, Finn (Scott Mechlowicz, Euro Trip) pushes Mason to do whatever is necessary to accomplish their mission including theft, bribery and intimidation.
As their mission reaches the brink of danger, they become hunted by a nihilistic madman named Eden after they steal his technology and discover that he is working on the exact same project that they are. Ultimately, Mason discovers the only way to defeat Eden may be the ultimate hack, one he never thought imaginable.
