Hot on the heels of the cryosleep chambers tease, Alien: Covenant is further teased in EW’s new photo of Katherine Waterston's Ripley-esque character from the anticipated film.

Unveiled on EW, the new Alien: Covenant photo features Waterston's character Daniels, a crew member aboard the Covenant who features a look reminiscent of Sigourney Weaver's Ellen Ripley.

Speaking with EW, director Ridley Scott mentioned that the new Alien movie will answer some of the questions brought about in 2012's Prometheus:

“Covenant is really going to show you who did it and why.”

Previously penciled in for an August 4th, 2017 release, Alien: Covenant is now scheduled to hit theaters on May 19th, 2017. A follow-up to 2012's Prometheus, Alien: Covenant is directed by Ridley Scott and features the return of Michael Fassbender as the android David.

The movie also stars Katherine Waterston (Inherent Vice), Demián Bichir (The Bridge), Danny McBride (Eastbound & Down), Amy Seimetz (The Sacrament, You’re NextA Horrible Way to Die), Jussie Smollett (Empire), Carmen Ejogo (The Purge: Anarchy), Callie Hernandez (From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series, Machete Kills), and Billy Crudup (Spotlight).

The second of three planned Alien prequel films, Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant has the following synopsis:

Alien: Covenant synopsis: “Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ALIEN with ALIEN: COVENANT, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with PROMETHEUS — and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.”
