In the summer of 2018, one of the galaxy's most feared hunters will return to the big screen with the release of Shane Black's The Predator. Although details on the film have been relatively quiet as of late, 20th Century Fox broke the silence today by officially releasing the first animated artwork for the new movie in a stormy motion poster.

Released on the Predator Official Fan App (after making an appearance at the London licensing expo), the new animated artwork can be viewed below. While an official synopsis has yet to be released, the lightning formation of a Predator's head above a city seems to indicate a well-populated setting for the new installment of the Predator franchise.

Slated for an August 3rd, 2018 release from 20th Century Fox, The Predator was directed by Black, who co-starred as the wisecracking Rick Hawkins in 1987's Predator. Black worked from a screenplay he co-wrote with Fred Dekker, who co-wrote The Monster Squad with Black back in the 1980s.

The cast of The Predator includes Alfie Allen, Keegan-Michael Key, Thomas Jane, Augusto Aguilera, Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Jacob Tremblay, Yvonne Strahovski, Sterling K. Brown, Jake Busey, and Olivia Munn.

Expected to be rated "R," The Predator was filmed in Vancouver, and while an official synopsis has yet to be revealed, we'll be sure to keep Daily Dead readers updated as more information is announced. In the meantime, you can check out the Predator Official Fan App for more Yautja goodies, and you can view the animated artwork below.
