Marcus Nispel, director of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday the 13th, and Conan: The Barbarian remakes is set to take on Hack/Slash for Relativity Media.

The project has been on and off again a number of times. It was originally picked up by Rogue Pictures when they were a part of Universal. Now Relativity Media owns Rogue Pictures and is looking to move forward with a Hack/Slash film once again. Last year, Marcus Nispel had been attached to direct an original horror film called Backmask. There is no word on whether he's still involved in that project and if it will shoot first.

Hack/Slash is a comic series created by Tim Seeley and Stefano Caselli. The series started out at Devil's Due Publishing and is now at Image Comics. "At the end of every horror movie, one girl always survives... in this case, Cassie Hack not only survives, she turns the tables by hunting and destroying the horrible slashers that would do harm to the innocent! Alongside the gentle giant known as Vlad, the two cut a bloody path through those who deserve to be put down... hard!"
