More Info on Tobe Hooper’s Djinn

Tobe Hooper was announced as the director of Imagenation Abu Dhabi's Djinn last month. Filming has already started, and more information has been revealed related to the plot and a possible sequel/prequel:

"The film is set in 2015 and follows the story of Khaled and Salama, a couple who return home from America to discover their apartment in a luxury high-rise, built on the site of the deserted fishing village, is also home to malevolent beings."

The cast is said to be half-English and half-Arabic and the film will finish shooting at the end of April. Although there is no release date set for Djinn and no mention of US release plans, the film's producer already discussed interest in a prequel and sequel.
