SundanceNOW and IFC Midnight have announced the joint acquisition of My Amityville Horror, with plans to distribution the film on a variety of platforms in the US:

"SundanceNOW and IFC Midnight announced today that the companies are jointly acquiring all U.S. rights to director Eric Walter’s documentary MY AMITYVILLE HORROR. SundanceNOW will handle the film for its subscriber video-on-demand (SVOD) initiative Doc Club, while IFC Midnight will manage all other platforms, including theatrical and VOD release. The film, which was produced by Walter, Andrea Adams, and John R. Blythe and executive produced by Ronald Puleio and Michael S. Russo, made its world premiere at Fantasia International Film Festival in July and its U.S. premiere at Fantastic Fest in September. On November 10th it will have its New York premiere at the DOC NYC Festival.

For the first time in 35 years, Daniel Lutz recounts his version of the infamous Amityville haunting that terrified his family in 1975.George and Kathy Lutz’s story went on to inspire a best-selling novel, and the subsequent films continue to thrill and scare audiences today. MY AMITYVILLE HORROR reveals the horror behind growing up as part of a world-famous haunting, and while Daniel’s facts may be others’ fiction, the psychological scars he carries are indisputable.

The deal for MY AMITYVILLE HORROR was negotiated by Arianna Bocco, Senior Vice President of Acquisitions & Productions for Sundance Selects/IFC Films with Josh Braun at Submarine Entertainment behalf of the filmmakers. Highland Film Group is handling international sales on the film.

IFC Midnight is a sister label of IFC Films and Sundance Selects and is owned and operated by AMC Networks Inc."
