Since last summer, filmmaker Neill Blomkamp (District 9, Elysium) has dazzled, chilled, and thrilled viewers with an array of short movies released for free online by Oats Studios. Blomkamp is now turning to fans to help make one of those short films, Firebase, into a full-length feature experience, with every single dollar donated going into the making of the actual movie.

Below, you can watch Blomkamp discuss Oats Studios' approach to crowdfunding Firebase (and you can also watch the full Firebase short film), and to learn more about how to support this project, visit Oats Studios' official website.

"Help FUND the next FIREBASE at https://fuel.oatsstudios.com

We want to build a 21st century studio that is funded directly by fans. The more people online that support us the more content we will put out. We want to create an ecosystem where we are directly fueled by the community. Our goal now is the next FIREBASE film. Help Fuel us here (https://fuel.oatsstudios.com). We want to grow and expand, but we need the communities help. We will create the FIREBASE film tailored to the incoming dollar amount. If we raise $40 dollars we will film a firebase "Cat" video. If we raise $100 million we will shoot a FIREBASE feature trilogy.
