Netflix officially announced their streaming-only subscription package for those that only stream content to their PC, game console, or other devices the service is available on. Unfortunately, for those that receive DVDs by mail, prices have increased across the board, as Netflix begins pushing streaming as their main service:

"Why the changes? Our selection of TV episodes and movies available to stream has grown dramatically, and as a result most members want us to deliver unlimited TV episodes and movies two ways: streaming instantly over the internet plus DVDs by mail. The price increase will allow us to continue to offer the popular plan choice of unlimited TV episodes and movies streaming instantly along with unlimited DVDs. The new plan, which does not include DVDs, is a great option for the increasing number of members who only want to watch instantly. The $7.99 a month price reflects no DVD shipping costs on this plan."

If you subscribe to Netflix and haven't used their streaming service, it is a great way to catch classic movies and TV shows, especially horror. There are movies in their selection that are not even on DVD yet or are difficult to acquire due to being out of print. Here is a list of the new pricing plans, with streaming-only being referred to as Unlimited (No DVDs) at $7.99:

We'll be covering the business side of horror and Netflix's streaming service in particular will be featured, as streaming is a game changer for the entertainment industry. Netflix will continue to push streaming as their main service and this is going to have a huge impact on the DVD industry and retail sales.
