Are you ready to celebrate the solstice this December? Earlier this week, it was announced that Netflix will release a Chilling Adventures of Sabrina holiday special, and as an early gift for fans, new images from the anticipated episode have been revealed.

Shared on multiple sites, including Bloody Disgusting and TVLine, images from Netflix's Chilling Adventures of Sabrina holiday special (titled "A Midwinter's Tale") offer a festive (and ominous) look at the next installment of the series, and you can unwrap them in the gallery below.

Recently announced by the show and writer/executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa on their official Twitter pages, the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina holiday special will be released on Friday, December 14th. While a full trailer has yet to be revealed, you can get a glimpse of the special in Netflix's previously released holiday sizzle reel below, and we'll be sure to keep Daily Dead readers updated on further details.

The new Sabrina TV series is based on Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa's comic book series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, which features chillingly atmospheric artwork by Robert Hack.

Aguirre-Sacasa, who developed The CW's Riverdale TV series, writes and executive produces the series, with Lee Toland Krieger (Riverdale) on board as a director and executive producer. Also executive producing the new series are Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Jon Goldwater, all of whom executive produce Riverdale.

"The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina tells the story of Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka), a half-witch half-mortal teenage girl. She’s been waiting her whole life for her 16th birthday, but something wicked this way comes, forcing her to choose between the path of light and the path of night.

Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who also serves as chief creative officer of Archie Comics, penned the script for the series. Aguirre-Sacasa executive produces alongside Riverdale collaborators Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Archie Comics CEO Jon Goldwater and Lee Toland Krieger. The drama hails from Warner Bros. Television-based Berlanti Productions. Cast includes: Kiernan Shipka, Miranda Otto, Lucy Davis, Ross Lynch, Michelle Gomez, Chance Perdomo, Jaz Sinclair, Richard Coyle, Tati Gabrielle, Adeline Rudolph, Abigail Cowen, Lachlan Watson and Bronson Pinchot."
