[REC] 4: Apocalypse will begin filming early next year and the official logo has been revealed. Paco Plaza and Jaume Balagueró co-directed the first two films and went off to direct their own separate [REC] sequels, with Balagueró directing the fourth film. Although details may have changed, here is the plot synopsis that was previously released:

“Angela Vidal, the young television reporter who entered the building with the fireman, manages to make it out alive. But what the soldiers don’t know is that she carries the seed of the strange infection. She is to be taken to a provisional quarantine facility, a high-security installation where she will have to stay in isolation for several days. An old oil tanker, miles off shore and surrounded by water on all sides, has been especially equipped for the quarantine.”

Those who have seen [REC] 3: Genesis know that the series is moving away from found footage and it is being reported that the fourth film will have no found footage at all. Take a look at the logo below and expect more information on the film early next year.
