Poe TV Show

It seem that there has been a lot of interest this year in Edgar Allan Poe, with multiple projects related to the author in production. You can add one more to the list, as ABC is moving forward with a pilot for Poe, described as: "a crime procedural following Edgar Allan Poe, the world's very first detective, as he uses unconventional methods to investigate dark mysteries in 1840s Boston."

Keep in mind, however, that just because a pilot has been ordered, doesn't meant that the pilot will ever see the light of day or will become an actual TV series. It is interesting to see ABC continuing to push genre projects, though, and I look forward to hearing more about the casting and plot surrounding the pilot.
