Blanc Biehn Productions have been busy at Cannes showing of their upcoming slate of projects, including an American remake of Hidden in the Woods that just secured a new production deal:

"Blanc Biehn Productions announced today that it has entered into an agreement for the funding of their latest production, HIDDEN IN THE WOODS, the American remake of the controversial Chilean film which is set to star award-winning actor Michael Biehn and William Forsythe. The production deal was brokered and finalized at the 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival this past week between Tapped producers Cody Hackman and Rob Freeman and Blanc Biehn Productions. HIDDEN IN THE WOODS will be a joint venture between Blanc Biehn Productions and Hackybox Pictures and is set to begin filming in early July in Houston, Texas.

The remake of HIDDEN IN THE WOODS will be directed by the original film’s director Patricio Valledares and produced by Jennifer Blanc-Biehn along with Loris Curci. WTFilms and Dimitri Stephanides are representing the film at Cannes.

"We are so thrilled to have investors like Hackybox Pictures who share our vision for this important subject matter," commented Biehn.

Added Blanc-Biehn, "We plan to donate proceeds from the film to five charities that relate to this very important subject matter of domestic violence. This is very important to all of us involved in the film.”

Based on the original, HIDDEN IN THE WOODS is the story of two sisters who’ve been raised in a remote area by an abusive father. After their father is jailed, they find they have to answer to their uncle, a drug kingpin who wants his missing product back -- no matter what the cost.

William Forsythe (The Rock, “Boardwalk Empire”) is set to play Uncle Costello and Biehn will play Oscar Crocker. Also joining the cast will be UFC® fighter Krzysztof Soszynski (known as “The Polish Experiment”) who recently worked with Michael Biehn on the MMA film Tapped.

At present, HIDDEN IN THE WOODS cast includes Biehn, Forsythe and Soszynski as well as Jeannine Kaspar (Iron Man, “House of Lies,”), Electra Avellan (Grindhouse, Machete) Mark Burnham (Wrong, Wrong Cops), Jennifer Blanc (The Victim, Wrong Cops), Cody Hackman (Tapped, Severed Connection) and Richard Gunn (“Granite Flats,” For the Love of Money)."
