**Updated: R-Rating is now confirmed** We have a couple of small Prometheus items for Daily Dead readers, including a new photo and an image that suggests Prometheus has been given an R rating.

While we don't usually cover news about a film's rating, it's different when you're talking about Ridley Scott's quasi-prequel to Alien. Fans are understandably worried that the movie will be cut down to reach a wider audience, but Fox CEO Tom Rothman has previously stated that won't be the case. While this isn't official confirmation from the MPAA, pre-order tickets are showing an R rating for the film. We've included a ticket image below, along with a brand new photo of Michael Fassbender from the film.

**Updated: A big thanks goes to Collider, who confirmed that the film has received an R-rating: 20th Century Fox has confirmed Prometheus will be rated R for “sci-fi violence including some intense images, and brief language.”

“Ridley Scott, director of ‘Alien’ and ‘Blade Runner,’ returns to the genre he helped define. With ‘Prometheus’ he creates a groundbreaking mythology in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.”
