After originally scheduled to come out this October, Fox pushed back their new Frankenstein movie to January, 2015. Now, it's being reported that the release date has been pushed back further. Fox's new Frankenstein movie is now set to be released on October 2nd, 2015 and is currently the only movie to claim that weekend. Other horror movies being released in October of 2015 include Guillermo del Toro's Crimson Peak and The Conjuring 2.
Paul McGuigan (Lucky Number Slevin) will direct from a script written by Max Landis (Chronicle) that puts the focus on Frankenstein’s assistant. The movie is expected to be a new spin on the Frankenstein story, as opposed to directly following the book, and we previously learned that that it will be more of a sci-fi take on the material.
Daniel Radcliffe was first to join the project to play the role of Igor and James McAvoy will be Victor Frankenstein.
