Rutger Hauer Joins the Cast of True Blood Season 6

We have our first casting news for True Blood Season 6 and its sure to please horror fans. According to TVLine, Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner, Hobo with a Shotgun) has joined the cast and will be playing the role of Macklyn, "a mysterious and sinister figure with deep ties to Sookie and Jason".

Series creator and showrunner Alan Ball is taking a step back from the show in the new season, although he remains on the show as an executive producer and will consult on the creative direction of the series. True Blood‘s co-executive producer Mark Hudis will take over for Ball as showrunner.

Unlike all past seasons, True Blood Season 6 will only contain ten episodes, unless plans change between now and the start of filming.
