With the eighth season of Dexter starting on June 30th instead of it's usual September/October premiere date, we're going to have plenty of Dexter news over the first half of this year. Today, we have details on two new additions to the Season 8 cast, including Sean Patrick Flanery.

Deadline reports that Flanery (Saw 3DThe Boondock Saints) will be taking on the role of Jacob Elroy, an ex-cop who owns a private investigation company in Miami. Over at EW, they're reporting that Charlotte Rampling has a recurring role "as a neuro-psychiatrist who specializes in working with young psychopaths and profiling criminals in unorthodox ways." Her role is supposed to be a major part of the Season 8 story.

Although it's been previously said that Dexter's eighth season would be the last, it isn't certain after the success of Season 7. Showtime has yet to make an official announcement, but we'll be sure to let you know when anything becomes official.
