If you were looking forward to returning to Lakewood for the six-episode third season of MTV's Scream TV series, then you'll want to prepare for a change of plans, because it's being reported that season 3 will include a new cast and setting, with Queen Latifah coming on board as an executive producer and a new showrunner named.

THR reveals the news of the big changes for Scream Season 3, reporting that Latifah, Shakim Compere, and Yaneley Arty will join Dimension's Harvey and Bob Weinstein as executive producers on the series.

Brett Matthews, who has previously worked on The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural, will take over as showrunner for the third season, which will feature a new cast of characters in a new location.

THR reports that none of the series' original cast members, including Willa Fitzgerald, John Karna, Carlson Young, Bex Taylor-Klaus, and Amadeus Serafini, will return for the third season. Major changes with the show's creative team are also expected to take place, and it's believed that season 3 will still consist of six episodes.

Story details for the third season are not yet known, but we'll keep Daily Dead readers updated as more information is revealed. In the meantime, it looks like the story Emma and her Lakewood friends has come to an end, with their time on Shallow Grove Island—which ended on a bit of a cliffhanger—seemingly their final adventure together.
